Jets prove too slick for Dragons

Camberwell hung with Sunbury for the first half in their Big V Championship Men clash at Balwyn High School on Sunday, but couldn’t handle the highly rated Jets after the main break.

The Dragons led by four at the half, before the visitors seized control with a 23-13 third quarter and then outscored their host 26-9 over the final 10 minutes en route to an 82-59 win.

Anthony Kimble finished with a team-high 14 points and six rebounds to be one of two double-digit scorers for Camberwell. Dexter Graham adding 10 points, eight boards and three steals.

Sunbury’s Ishmael Sanders led all scorers with 23 points and Trevon Clayton pulled down 15 rebounds to go with 16 points.

The Dragons dropped to 3-5 and closed the round in seventh place. Sunbury (6-1) is second behind Hume (7-1).
