The Camberwell Dragons Representative Program is calling for all those interested in coaching during the 2015/2016 Victorian Junior Basketball League season to submit an Expression of Interest form.
Head Coach and Assistant Coaches positions are available in all Boys and Girls Under 12, Under 14, Under 16, Under 18 and Under 20.
All current coaches who reapply and all new coaches who apply to be part of the Camberwell Dragons coaching staff will be expected to abide by the following.
- Attempt to obtain a minimum Level One National Coaching Accreditation Scheme Certificate or equivalent 2015/16 MUVJBL Season. Course opportunities will be forwarded to you by the Club.
- Adhere to the Basketball Victoria Coaches Code of Conduct
- Have an understanding of the MUVJBL Basketball Season. Friday night games, Sunday morning trainings and with some teams a mid-week training session are all part of this commitment.
- It is also expected that coaches and their teams will participate in the Australia Day weekend tournament.
- Applicants who wish to coach another junior team at another association will not be considered.
- Complete a Working with Children Check form and VJBL Statutory Declaration Form.
- Assist at all Camberwell Dragons representative trials and work with the relevant coordinator as well as fellow coaches in selecting final teams.
- Ensure that they are highly organised with regard to match day and training plans
- Will further their knowledge outside of their training hours (coaching clinics, working with senior coaches, observing higher ranked team training sessions etc.)
- Will undertake and adhere to club guidelines regarding some basic coaching skills and methods
- Remuneration is given to all coaches to help cover basic costs.
