Bedrich joins the Dragons with a highly successful coaching career across both Junior and Senior programs.
“I’m really thrilled and excited at the opportunity to be offered by Camberwell Dragons Basketball as the Director of Coaching of the Girls program.
I cannot wait to work closely with the Coaches and players at Camberwell to elevate the club and become one of the Premier Associations in VJBL”
Bedrich has held senior high level positions across the breadth of the Basketball Community at a number of clubs.
His impressive record includes coaching and co-ordinator roles across Junior and Senior programs at Knox Raiders, Bulleen Boomers and the Sherbrooke Suns where he held the position of Head Coach for the Big V Womens Championship Team.
Bedrich has also brings experience from his time as an assistant coach for the Knox Raiders Men’s program in the SEABL as well as coaching at the highest level as an assistant coach in the WNBL for the Dandenong Rangers to the Dragons.
Bedrich will work directly with Girls Coordinator Rachel Bett to further strengthen our VJBL Program. They will work with our VJBL coaches to enhance player development as well as provide mentoring with greater focus placed on the developmental pathways for coaches. Through the introduction of new programs and coach support networks, they will look to push our coaches to extend their knowledge on more aspects of the game, in turn providing a better all-round experience for our athletes.
Bedrich will be a strong presence around the courts at both Junior & Senior Competitions, and Camberwell District Basketball Association is looking forward to the year ahead with Bedrich as Director of Coaching for the Girls Program.
Director of Coaching Announcement – Boys
Camberwell District Basketball Association is excited to announce the appointment of Andrew Power as Director of Coaching for the Camberwell Dragons Boys Program.
Andrew was previously Director of Coaching for the whole VJBL program. He will now have the opportunity to focus his expertise and skills in our Boys Program as a coaching mentor.
Andrew has a lot of experience in both high level basketball and teaching, skills he can utilise to help guide our coaches for this season and into future seasons. With a proven track record Andrew will continue to develop and implement a coaching framework across the junior program including relevant standards for each age group
With Andrew on board for another season this is a great step forward as a club as we continue to try and improve our coaching practices. Andrew will continue to work with current coaches and players, but also add strength and knowledge to the Association.
VJBL Boys Coordinator Mark Jeffers on Andrew’s appointment said “We are really looking forward to having Andrew on board again for the 2018/19 season. With a relatively young group of coaches across the board, Andrew’s guidance and advice is exactly what we need to continue developing our coaching ranks. The impact his guidance had last season was immediate in his first year in the role. The confidence he instilled in our coaches aided in the development we saw in our players across the program.”
Stay tuned for more announcements around the Association regarding the VJBL, Big V and partnerships within the community and basketball world.
