Double delight as Li, Smith claim Big V honours
Double delight for the Dragons today, with Jacinta Li and Rachael Smith (above) named on the Big V Blue Carpet Youth League One Women Starting Five for their work at the weekend.
Jacinta (below) won selection after going for a game-high 22 points, nine rebounds and five steals in Camberwell’s 67-57 win against visiting Sunbury yesterday, while Rachael, the league’s Player of the Month for June, was recognised after averaging 12.5 points and 22 rebounds – no, you read that right, that is not a misprint! – in the Dragons’ back-to-back wins against Geelong United and the Jets.
Camberwell improved to 13-5 and closed Round 14 in third place in the Youth League One standings.
The Dragons are back at Balwyn High on Sunday for a high noon showdown with Pakenham. See you there, Camberwell!
