Champ Men out to snap three-game losing streak

It’s been a rough few weeks for Fisto Bizima and our Big V Championship Men’s team, who’ve lost their last three – two of those against the top two teams in the league – but coach Olly Reid and his crew are looking forward to better times ahead.

They’re back at Balwyn High School this weekend for a Saturday night date with in-form Keysborough (6pm), which has won four of its past five, including an 80-75 road win against Bellarine last weekend.

The Cougars are fourth with a 5-3 record, while the seventh-placed Dragons slipped to 3-5 after their 82-59 home loss to highly rated Sunbury last week.

Saturday night’s clash is the second game of a double-header at Balwyn High, with our Youth Men’s team scheduled to tip things off against Geelong United at 4pm.

The Dragons (6-2) are on on a two-game winning streak after Matt Power and Sam Veitch led the way in a memorable overtime victory against Bendigo at the school last Sunday.

Our unbeaten Youth League Women team will be chasing its eighth straight win when it takes its show on the road to Craigieburn on Saturday night (6pm).

And our Championship Women are also on the road on Saturday night. They’ll go head to head with Sherbrooke at Bell Real Estate Stadium. That one to tip off at 6pm.
