Big V – Round 4
Camberwell vs. Melton – Sun 2pm @ Balwyn High School
The Dragons are ready to go after having a well deserved Easter break after two double header weekends in as many weeks. This week they face a tough Melton side that are in a similar position as them on the ladder and have a similar record early in the season. New father, Coach Anstey will be looking for key pieces Nathaniel O’Hara and Trevor Smyth to deliver the goods again this week, just as they did in their previous encounter against Altona. The Dragons will need to try and limit Jeff Crowe and Ivan Harris’ output if they are to remain competitive in this game; both are prolific offensive players who will need to be shutdown to make sure the Dragons can protect their home floor.
Camberwell vs. Whittlesea – Sun 12pm @ Balwyn High School
After a somewhat disappointing couple of weeks before the Easter break the Youth League girls are ready to get back on track with some more consistent performances. So far this season it has been Michelle West leading the charge for the Dragons with 13 points per game to go with her 6 rebounds a game. Coach Hauer will want her to step up again to make sure the girls can get over the Pacers this week. The Pacers will be playing their second game of a double header weekend so could have some tired legs, they’ll be hoping the Dragons don’t bring their A game to be a chance in this one.
