U12.1 Boys make Victorian Championship

Congratulations to the u12.1 Boys for being the first Camberwell Dragons team to make Victorian Championship (VC) for season 2013.

The boys had a quality win over Frankston 1 on Friday night, to finish Grading Phase 2 with a 3-0 record in pool AA. Coach Sam Tarbet and Assistant Coach James Tucker are incredibly proud of what their boys have achieved in such a short time.

“Starting in pool 2 before Christmas we’ve learnt and bonded incredibly quickly especially considering we have 4 boys new to representative basketball. The achievements of the boys so far have been remarkable.”

Victorian Championship is where the top 20 teams in the state compete for each age group. Camberwell have had no more than 15 teams’ reach this level throughout its history, and this is a first for our u12 Boys. Camberwell Dragons are very proud of Sam and the boys, and wish them the best of luck for the beginning of the Championship season on the 1st March. We still have two other teams vying for a spot in VC, U12.1 Girls and the U18.1 Boys, who will need to win some big games in the next few weeks. Good luck to all teams as we enter the final Cross-Over games for 2013, and grading positions are finalised.

Go Dragons!
