Message from CDBA President Matt Bubb
Dear Camberwell Basketball Community,
I hope this message finds you well. It is with a mix of emotions that I share some news with you all today. After an incredibly rewarding four years serving as the President of the Camberwell District Basketball Association (CDBA), I have made the difficult decision not to stand for re-election at this year’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in November.
While the Bubb family will continue to be active and engaged members of the Camberwell Basketball community, due to my imminent relocation to Singapore as I return to the corporate world, continuing in my role as President would not be feasible.
Additionally, our amazing Vice President, Rebecca Power, is also unable to stand for a further term on the committee, due to limitations in our current constitution, as her children have now aged out of our junior programs.
These vacancies present a wonderful opportunity for equally passionate parents, referees or senior players to step up and join the CDBA Committee. You could potentially consider taking on leadership roles such as President, Vice President, or leading one of our strategic focus areas.
This is an incredibly exciting time to become involved with the CDBA as we embark on the next phase of our journey. I am immensely proud of the stability we have achieved here at Camberwell, and more importantly, the growth and opportunities we have created for the young people in our community.
Today, we boast more than 5000 players across our Community Basketball, VJBL, and Big V programs, making us one of the largest associations in Victoria. We continue to expand our community-based initiatives, including Walking Basketball, Basketball in Schools, Aussie Hoops, and our immensely popular holiday camps and development programs, to name just a few.
Despite this remarkable growth and opportunity, we remain committed to our family-first culture, where our players and their families are at the heart of all our decisions and plans.
If you are curious about getting involved in the committee and contributing to the continued success of basketball in the eastern suburbs, I encourage you to reach out. Your dedication and enthusiasm are essential to our ongoing growth and success. You can reach me by email at email@example.com
Thank you for your unwavering support over the years, and I look forward to seeing the Camberwell Basketball community continue to flourish in the capable hands of new leaders.
President, Camberwell District Basketball Association
