Camberwell is headed to the championship game after turning up the defensive heat in the second half to beat previously unbeaten Eltham in last night’s Big V Youth League 1 Women semi-final at Eltham High School.

After trailing by nine at the half, the Dragons wiped out the deficit with a 19-10 third quarter and then pulled away over the final 10 minutes to secure a hard-fought 65-59 win.

Rachael Smith closed with a 14-point, 13-rebound double-double to lead the way, Catherine Seletto (11 points, 11 rebounds) added a double-double of her own and Jacinta had 14 points for Camberwell, which held Eltham to just 22 points in the second half.

The Dragons will play local rival Bulleen in next week’s grand final, but for now the countdown to that one can wait. Sit back and enjoy this selection of great shots from a memorable night at Eltham High.
